Sequel to The Enemy in 2010

A sequel to Charlie Higson’s bestselling new non-Bond horror novel, The Enemy, will be released in 2010.

Charlie told The Guardian Books Podcast this weekend that Puffin has contracted him for three Enemy novels, but that he’d be willing to write more should the series prove to be a success.

Good news for zombie fans, but slightly worrisome for followers of Young Bond who have been hoping Charlie might return and pen a Young Bond Series 2 after he completes The Enemy trilogy.

While Charlie has expressed interest in doing more Bond novels (perhaps even adult novels), there has been no official news about any new Bond novels. When questioned about a new continuation novelist by blogger Paul Davis, Director of Ian Fleming Publications, Fergus Fleming, stated, “No comment on the next Bond author.”

Charlie Higson’s latest Young Bond adventure, A Hard Man To Kill -- a short story set between Hurricane Gold and By Royal Command -- can be read now in the new Young Bond companion book, Danger Society: The Young Bond Dossier.
