Young Bond reference in Devil May Care

So have you read Devil May Care yet -- the new adult James Bond novel by Sebastian Faulks released last month to celebrate the Ian Fleming centenary?

If so, you’ve no doubt noticed an abundance of references to the original Ian Fleming James Bond novels. But fans will be pleased to know that Charlie Higson’s Young Bond series also gets a nod from Faulks.

In chapter 8, when Bond and Darius arrive for an evenings entertainment at the Paradise Club in Tehran, Bond recalls...

“For Bond, the name stirred the faint memory of an exciting juvenile visit to the gaming tables.”

Of course, this is a reference to Bond’s visit to the Paradice casino in the third Young Bond novel, Double or Die. Click here for an extract of that scene.

Devil May Care is currently the #1 bestseller in the UK and the fasting selling hardcover book in Penguin history.
