Curious Young Bond fans may have noticed this new listing on Amazon for a copy of By Royal Command with an “unknown binding” and a whopping £129 price tag. This listing has also appeared on some international Amazon websites.

So what could this mystery listing be? A yet-to-be-announced By Royal Command super special edition of some kind?

Well, I checked it out with our contact at Puffin who says, “I have absolutely NO idea what this is - but I'm sorry to say that it definitely doesn't exist.”

Ah, man.

While not a new edition, this listing does carry a unique ISBN number, so it must be something. My guess is this is either an open market paperback with an incorrect price, or -- and this is the most likely explanation -- a multi-copy display of the regular hardcover edition for retailers (called a “dumpbin”).
