The excellent Dutch Bond fansite 007 Nederland has scored an exclusive interview with Marlies Visser who designs the Young Bond book covers in The Netherlands. As you can see from the images above, Marlies’ covers radically depart from the UK styles.

The interview is in Dutch so you will need to run it through Babel Fish or another online translator to read it. Among the interesting insights is that the dice were removed from the original Double or Die design (bottom left in image above) when IFP pointed out that Bond only gambles with cards in the book. Also, Marlies has yet to receive her assignment for Hurricane Gold, but she’s looking forward to it.

Double or Die will be released in The Netherlands as Gevaarlijk Spel (Dangerous Game) by Pimento kinderboeken on April 15, 2008.
