Charlie Higson’s first Young Bond novel SilverFin has been released as a Daisy talking book by RNIB. The book is read by David Thorpe and comes on one structured CD lasting 9 hours, 33 minutes. Daisy books can only be read using a Daisy Talking Book player or Daisy software on a PC.

DAISY (Digital Accessible Information System) assists blind and partially sighted people who have problems using regular printed media and audio books. Daisy talking books have the benefits of regular audio books, but they are superior when it comes to navigating the content and displaying synchronized text. For example, Daisy books can enable users who are blind to navigate an encyclopedia, which as a regular audio book would be useless because it lacks search and navigation features and requires a linear listen.

The Daisy talking book edition of SilverFin can be purchased from the RNIB online store.
